Hair review: Pantene 3 minute miracle treatment

Pues bien, cuando se trata de belleza, normalmente nos enfocamos en el maquillaje, en pintauñas, en cremas, en perfumes... pero creo que a veces podemos dejar un poco olvidada una parte importante de nuestra apariencia: el cabello. Lo lavamos, secamos, planchamos, enchinamos, pintamos, y un largo etcétera, y como es tan bueno soporta mucho daño, pero de vez en cuando es necesario consentirlo y hacer que mejore su apariencia. Sé que el cabello es sano/no sano desde adentro, y un producto que se aplica y enjuaga no lo va a "hacer más sano" pero sí puede hacer que tenga una "apariencia más sana" y que aguante mejor el daño diario.

Yo la verdad soy bastante escéptica cuando se trata de productos de belleza, y más cuando casi casi te prometen que te van a dar una cabellera de rapunzel en 1 minuto y que va a brillar como bola disco. Pero al ver esta ampolleta que jura "reparar el daño de 3 meses en 3 minutos", lo acepto, me entró la duda y como no está cara (19 pesos ~ 1.5 dls), no tenía mucho que perder. Pero, a qué se refiere que repara el daño?

When it comes to beauty, we normally focus our attention on makeup, nail polish, creams, lotions, perfumes... but sometimes, we tend to neglect an important part of our appearance: our hair.  We wash it, blow dry it, flat iron it, curl it, dye it, etc., and our poor hair endures a lot of damage, but once in a while we need to nourish our locks and make it look a little better. I know that healthiness starts from the inside, and to apply some product that you will later rinse off it's not going to "make it healthier" but it sure can make it "healthier looking" and respond better to damage.

I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to beauty products, specially when they almost claim they will give you Rapunzel's hair that shines like a disco ball. But when I saw this treatment that says it would "help repair 3 months of damage in 3 minutes", I'll admit it, I was a little curious and since it was not expensive (1.5 dls), didn't have much to lose. But what does it mean when it says that repairs three months of damage?

Este producto cremoso (se me hizo muy parecido al acondicionador pantene normal, preferiría que fuera líquido) está diseñado para que lo incorpores en tu régimen de cuidado del cabello, usándolo 1 vez a la semana, después del shampoo y acondicionador. Viene en un tubo pequeño de 15 ml. con una tapita fácil de abrir, lo cual fue una buena sorpresita ya que normalmente batallo abriendo apolletas de este tipo. Yo tengo cabello largo por lo que utilicé 1 pero si tienes cabello corto fácil te dura 2 veces porque sólo se usa de la mitad a las puntas.

Ya que lees las letras pequeñas (como es usual) te das cuenta que cuando dicen "daño" se refieren a "daño en la suavidad", es decir, hace que tu cabello se sienta más suave. Entonces, cumplió su prometido? Basándonos en eso, entonces sí. Sí ayudó a que al secarse, mi cabello se sintiera mas fino y lacio, sedoso y con casi nada de estática.

La verdad mi cabello tampoco estaba muy dañado ya que casi no me lo seco o plancho (al menos en el verano), pero sí sufro de puntas abiertas y de que se me enrede, entonces este producto sí ayudó en ese sentido.

This weekly product is a cream treatment (it felt pretty similar to the pantene conditioner; I would prefer it to be more liquid) is designed to be incorporated into your regular hair care regime, after shampoo and conditioner. It comes in a 15 ml tube with an easy to open twist off cap, which was a good surprise since I always have trouble opening this kind of little bottles. I have long hair so I used up 1 but if you have short or medium hair, it will easily last 2 treatments, cause you only apply it on the tips.

Once you read the small letters (as usual) you can see that when they say "damage", they're referring to "damage to softness", so, this product will make your hair feel softer. So, did it work? Based on this, then yes. When my hair was dry, it did feel softer, silkier and almost frizz-free.

I do have to point out that my hair was not that damaged since I barely blow dry it or use a flat iron (at least during summer), but I do have split ends and it gets tangled pretty easily, so after all, this treatment actually helped in that sense.

Para resumir: es un buen producto para el precio que tiene, no es milagroso pero sí ayuda bastante a sentir tu cabello más sedoso y suave. Definitivamente lo volvería a comprar.

To sum up: good value for your money, it's not a miracle product but it does help your tresses feel softer and silkier. Definitely would repurchase it.

Hola a todos! Qué tal estuvo su fin de semana? Yo me dediqué a ver películas, comer mucho, dormir aunque no tanto como me hubiera gustado y por supuesto, ver la entrega de los Emmys 2012. Hello everyone! How was your weekend? I watched some movies, ate a lot of junk food, slept, but not as much as I would have wanted, and, of course, watched the Emmy Awards 2012. It is an event to honor the small screen, although a lot of movie actors and celebrities come to the show. Without further ado, here are my impressions of the night. This is going to be a long one, cause there was a lot to see. The ones I really liked were.

Cat Deeley in Tadashi Shoji. Beautiful color on her skin tone. / Hermoso color para su tono de piel.

Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier. Love the bright color. / Me encanta el color brillante.

Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood. Perfect sultry dress for an award show. / Look súper sensual, perfecto para este tipo de eventos.

Sarah Hyland in Marchesa. Beauiful, sweet and age appropriate. / Hermoso, dulce y apropiado para su edad.

Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad. Perfect silhouette, makes her look like a siren, in a good way. Gorgeous accessories. / La silueta es perfecta, la hace ver con figura de sirena. Los accesorios le quedan perfecto.

Sarah Paulson in Reem Acra. Again, this is how you dress for an award show. / Para mi, así es como debes vestirte a una entrega de premios.

Nicole Kidman in Antonio Berardi. Can she ever go wrong? / Acaso esta mujer se equivoca?

Allison Williams in Oscar de La Renta. Gorgeous bright color that really stands out on the red carpet. Classic and effortless. / Hermoso color que realmente resalta en la alfombra roja. Clásico y bello sin mucho esfuerzo.

Ahora, los que no estoy tan segura, los que si me gustaron pero hubo algo, los que se quedaron a medias fueron...

Now the ones I'm not so sure of, the ones that I did like but there was something missing, the ones that only got halfway were...


Amanda Peet in Calvin Klein. It's nice but kinda looks like a nightgown. / Está bien pero parece bata de noche.

Christina Hendricks in Christian Siriano. I can imagine it must be hard to tame "those two", but the dress looks too tight and that belt didn't work for me. The color however I find it lovely. / Me imagino que debe ser dificil tratar de aplacar a "esas dos" pero el vestido se ve muy apretado y el cinto no me gusta, está de más. Pero el color me gustó mucho.

Claire Danes in Lanvin. I'm not sure about the shape. I know she's pregnant but it does make her look bigger. And it seems too casual, like something you would wear at a dinner party or something. / No estoy segura con la forma. Sé que está embarazada pero hace que se vea más ancha. Y me parece que el vestido se ve algo casual, como algo que usarías para una cena o fiesta.

Connie Britton in Andrew Gn. She's 45 and looks hot. But what's up with that hair??! Looks like she's going to bake a cake in the 1950s. /  Esta señora tiene 45 años y se ve guapísima. Pero qué onda con ese pelo??! Parece que va a hornear un pastel en 1950.

Emily Van Camp in J. Mendel. I really love the color, the ethereal feel of the dress, but it kind of pulls her boobs down and that's not good for anybody. Well maybe for Christina Hendricks. / Me encantó el color, pero me parece que el vestido le aplasta y baja un poco las boobies y eso no es bueno para nadie. Bueno tal vez para Christina Hendricks.

Gretchen Mol in Valentino Haute Coture. Nice dress, seen it a million times. Oh and not long enough. / Bonito vestido, lo hemos visto miles de veces. Y no es lo suficientemente largo.

January Jones in Zac Posen. I'm just not sure about this... Do I like it? Don't like it? Too much going on? Too severe for her? Can't decide. / No estoy segura de éste... Me gusta? No me gusta? Demasiadas cosas? Look muy severo para ella? No me decido.

Julianne Hough in Georges Hobeika. Gorgeous, gorgeous color and dress, but this is proof that bad hair and makeup can ruin your look. / El vestido y el color están preciosos, pero esta es la prueba de que un mal peinado y maquillaje pueden arruinar tu look.

Lucy Liu in Versace. I like this but she kind of looks too futuristic. Not sure. Smoking body though! / Me gusta pero se me hace un poco demasiado futurista. Pero qué cuerpazo!

Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acre. Cute if you wanted to look like a Disney Princess. And what's up with that stiff pose? / Lindo si lo que quieres es verte como una princesa de Disney. Y por qué esa pose tan rígida?

Ahora sí, los que de plano no me gustaron fueron...

And finally, the ones that I absolutely didn't like were...

Ashley Judd in Carolina Herrera. Yes, she looks like a 100 year old trying to look young. And that hair!! I wanna cry. She's beautiful, why did she do this? / Sí, parece que tiene 100 años y se quiere ver más jóven. Y ese cabello por Dios!! Quiero llorar. Ella es hermosa, por qué tiene que hacer ésto?

Glen Close in Dior. Yes, this is Dior. And looks like a Halloween costume gone bad. / Sí, ésto es Dior. Y se ve como un disfraz de Halloween que salió mal.

Hayden Panettier in Marchesa. Too much going on for her petite frame. Looks like she got tangled in a blue drape at her house. I actually believe that the gold dress underneath would've look great by itself. / Demasiadas cosas para su cuerpo y estatura pequeñas. Parece que se enredó en una cortina azul antes de salir de su casa. En verdad creo que el vestido dorado debajo hubiera funcionado perfecto por sí solo.

Heidi Klum in Alexandre Vauthier. Angelina Jolie called. She's suing you for using her leg pose. You're gorgeous, you don't need to do this to stand out! / Angelina Jolie llamó y dijo que te va a demandar por usar su pose de la pierna. Eres bellísima, no necesitas hacer ésto para destacar!

Julianne Moore in Christian Dior. Three words: TOO - MUCH - FABRIC. /  Dos palabras: DEMASIADA  - TELA.

Lena Dunham in Prada. I don't even know what to say about this... Well maybe I do, she looks like someone is hiding under there. / Ni siquiera sé que decir de ésto... Bueno tal vez sí, se ve como que lleva a alguien escondido ahí abajo.

Lena Heady in Armani Prive. Wrong. Just wrong. On so many levels. / Fatal. Horrible en muchos niveles.

And Props to Kelly Osbourne for looking stunning!! Giving all the actresses a run for their money with this lilac asymmetrical dress./ Y una mención especial a Kelly Osbourne en Zac Posen. Se ve estectacular! No le pide nada a todas las actrices en este vestido asimétrico y lila.

Girl Crush: Emma Stone

Hola a todos! Pues bien, a todas nos encanta la moda y la belleza, nos gusta hacer nuestras propias combinaciones y nos sentimos orgullosas cuando un outfit nos queda bien. Pero también todas tenemos, en mayor o menor medida, actrices, cantantes, celebrities o socialités que nos gusta seguir, nos gusta (tratar de) imitar y pues aceptémoslo, saber un poquito de cómo van en la vida diaria. Para mi, una de esas chicas es Emma Stone. Para ver la evolución de su estilo, recapitulemos un poco cómo ha ido cambiando.

Hello everyone! We know that we love all things fashion and beauty, we enjoy doing our very own clothes/accessories/makeup combination and we feel proud when a certain outfit turns out great. But we also have, in one way or another, actresses, singers, celebrities or socialites that we love to follow, we love to (or try to) emulate and, lets face it, to know a little bit about their every day life. Personally, one of those girls is Emma Stone. To see the evolution of her style, let's go backwards and see how things have changed over the years.

 Así es como la conocimos en la película Superbad en 2007; la veíamos como una chica dulce, un poco torpe pero con mucho sentido del humor, muy linda y al menos, yo, quería saber más de ella. Pero apenas tenía 19 añitos!! Obvio que su look era más sencillo y no muy glamouroso.

Le siguieron algunas películas (y por consiguiente alfombras rojas) en las que empezó a mejorar bastante, poniendo más atención a los detalles como el cabello, que me ha llamado la atención desde el comienzo, y maquillaje, ayudándola a verse un poco más estilizada.

This is how we met her, when she starred in the movie Superbad in 2007; she was this sweet girl, kind of corky but with a great sense of humor, very cute and I wanted to see more of her. But she was only 19 at the time! Her look was obviously a lot more casual and not so glamorous.

She began to appear in different movies (and red carpets) where she stepped it up a notch, giving details as hair and makeup a lot more attention, helping her look more stylish.

Bueno digamos que aquí todavía no daba totalmente en el clavo, pero mostraba mucho potencial.

Well she didn't quite nailed it here, but we could definitely see a lot of potential in her.

Y para mi el punto en el que todos empezamos a decir: creo que debemos empezar a ponerle más atención, es cuando se tiñó el pelo de rubia (aunque ella es rubia natural) que empezó a girar cabezas de fans, cineastas y diseñadores por igual.

To me, the moment when we all started to say: maybe we should keep an eye on her, was when she dyed her hair blond (she's a natural blond though)  that she started turning heads, whether it was fans, filmmakers or designers. 

La empezamos a ver en portadas de revistas, entrevistas, comerciales, alfombras rojas con vestidos de diseñadores, y debo decir, también más flaca, aunque yo la prefiero como estaba al comienzo.

She began to appear in magazine covers, interviews, beauty campaigns, and attending red carpets wearing different designers, and I must add, she started to look skinnier; I liked her better when she was not so thin.

Uno de mis looks favoritos ha sido este, ese rosa intenso en los labios le va super bien a su tez porcelana!

This is one of my favorite looks, that bright/hot pink really brightens her porcelain skin!.

Y cuando empezó a asistir a las diferentes permieres al rededor del mundo para su última película, The Amazing Spider Man, nos regaló un desfile de atuendos de Elie Saab, Gucci, Chanel... por mencionar algunos. Desde ojos y labios vampirescos hasta dulces vestidos florales, Emma se dio vuelo como niño en una dulcería.

When she did the worldwide tour for her latest movie, The Amazing Spider Man, she showed us she can pull of dresses from Elie Saab, Gucci, Chanel... to name a few. From dramatic vampy eyes and dark purple lips, to sweet floral dresses, she was like a kid in a candy store.

Con un estilo impecable, aunque no deja de sorprendernos, siento que sigue siendo la misma chica graciosa de Arizona, pero con un clóset que todas envidiaríamos.

Ahh! Y puntos extra por tener uno de los novios más guapos de Hollywood: Andrew Garfield. :)

With impecable style, although she doesn't cease to amaze us, I just feel like she's still that funny girl from Arizona, but has a wardrobe that many of us would kill for.

Ohh and bonus points for having one of the hottest boyfriends in showbiz: Andrew Garfield. :)
