Hola a todos y todas!! Cómo han estado?? Yo me he perdido un poco ya que, como algunos de ustedes ya sabrán, el 31 de octubre próximo es mi cumpleaños :D y he estado buscando algunas decoraciones, preparando el disfraz y viendo detalles para el día de mi fiesta... Así que, aunque no tengo millones de lectores que se estén preguntando: A dónde se fue la Normita?? ajjajaja les pido una disculpa! :P

Hello everyone!! How have you been? I know I've been a little MIA but as some of you already know, my birthday is almost here :D so I've been getting ready for that day, buying some party decorations, and trying to figure out what my costume is going to be... So, although I don't have thousands of subscribers that are wondering right now: where did Normita go?? ahahaha I give you a sincere apologize! :P 

So, lets get started: Baby Lips by Maybelline :)

De seguro algunas de ustedes ya tienen desde hace rato estos bebés, pero aquí en México, o al menos en la ciudad que yo vivo, a veces quedamos rezagados y no nos llegan todos los productos nuevos, por eso cuando los vi en el pasillo de maquillaje, me puse muy contenta y me compré dos!

I'm sure many of you already have some of these babies, but sometimes here in Mexico, or at least where I live, we tend to get left out when it comes to the latest beauty products, so when I saw these at the makeup aisle, didn't think twice and got two!

Los sabores que compré fueron Cherry Me y Pink Punch. Para empezar, me gusta mucho el empaque en el que vienen, me recuerda un poco como a los cosméticos que tenía de niña, que son bonitos pero no son muy "enserio"; me dan esa vibra como de juguetes por los colores brillantes y las letras. El color del labial es como el sabor que representan: Cherry Me es un rojo intenso, y Pink Punch es un rosa chicle. Y qué decir de los olores... Ríquísimos! De verdad que te dan ganas de comértelos!

As you can see, I bought Cherry Me and Pink Punch. First of all, I really liked the packaging, it reminds me a little bit of the few cosmetics I had as a kid, those that are very pretty to look at, but are not "the real deal"; with these I get that toy vibe because of the bright colors and cute font. Each one is pretty similar to the color they represent: Cherry Me is a rich red, and Pink Punch is like a bubble gum pink. And the flavor/scent... YUM!! Makes you wanna eat it!

Como es un bálsamo, no tiene mucho color, pero sí mucha humectación, se sienten cremosos y te dan ganas de volverlos a aplicar al poco rato de haberlo hecho. Como no me gusta el olor a menta, sólo compré estos dos pero estoy en la búsqueda del color tipo salmón nude, que se llama Peach Kiss. Además de hidratar, tiene FPS 20 lo cual es un plus. 

Since it is a lip balm, it's not very pigmented, but it is very moisturizing, it feels really smooth and you feel like you wanna apply it over and over. I don't like peppermint so I only got these two but I'm actually looking for Peach Kiss, which wasn't on stock. Besides hydrating, they have SPF 20 which is great.

Según la descripción de Maybelline, después de 4 semanas los labios son visiblemente renovados y "vuelven a nacer". No es como que mis labios estén muertos ni nada jajaja pero se me hace una afirmación muy fuerte... Al rato que van a decir que con una sola aplicación tendremos los labios de Angelina Jolie y Scarlet Johansson juntas?? :/ Pues esperemos, ya que probablemente... también lo voy a querer comprar ajjajaja

According to Maybelline, "after 4 weeks, lips are visibly renewed and  reborn". It's not that my lips are dead or anything, but I feel that that's a pretty bold statement... What's next? This new lipstick that gives you Angelina Jolie and Scarlet Johansson's lips, at the same time?? :/ We can only wait, cause probably... I will want to buy it hehehe

Favorite lip moisturizers

Hola a todas! :) Hoy les quiero hablar un poco de mis labiales favoritos en cuestión de humectación. Sé que todas tenemos lipsticks en tonos que nos encantan y que usamos una y otra vez, pero ahora con el clima más frío y seco, los labios se resecan sin darnos cuenta, y por más lindo que esté ese color nuevo que acabamos de comprar, no se verá bien si llevamos los labios partidos o secos. Por eso aquí les traigo un post pequeñito con algunos de mis labiales favoritos :)

Hello everybody! Today I wanna talk about my favorite products when it comes to lip moisturizers. I know that we all have lipsticks that we absolutely love and that we wear over and over, but now with this cold weather, our lips tend to dry without even noticing it, and no matter how gorgeous that new lipstick we just bought is, if you have chapped lips, it's not going to look good. So that's why I wrote this little post about some of my favorite lipsticks :)

Labello Fruty Shine

Labello siempre se ha caracterizado por centrar sus productos casi al 100% en la humectación, y pocas veces al color; pero con esta línea combina las dos características de una manera sutil y que funciona muy bien. Yo me compré los sabores (o colores?) Pink Guava y Pomegranate, los cuales además de tener un olor riquísimo, dan un toque de color a los labios, con ligeros destellos brillantes. El color es muy sutil pero aún así se nota; yo lo uso varias veces al día y no me canso de re-aplicarlo! Además tiene SPF 10 lo cual siempre es algo bueno ;)

Labello usually focuses most of their products on being moisturizing, and rarely on having the latest hot shades; but to me, with this particular line they combine both of these characteristics in a subtle way that really works for me. I bought two flavors (or shades?): Pink Guava and Pomegranate, they give you a really light tint, are a bit shimmery and smell wonderful. The color is very light but you can still notice that you are wearing some color; I use it several times a day and I don't get tired of it! Plus it has SPF 10 which is always good ;)

Avon Ultra Color Rich 24K Lipstick

Este lipstick asegura que es el único con oro de 24 kilates, pero... eso es algo que debería buscar en mis labiales?? La verdad no sé, nunca he oido que el oro tenga propiedades humectantes jeje pero debo admitir que este labial me gustó mucho ya que es bastante cremoso, se aplica muy suave y los colores me encantaron. El color dura bastante y también tienen olores deliciosos. El empaque viene en un color dorado que le da un toque elegante; creo que es una buena opción como un regalo para las próximas fiestas :)

Yo compré los tonos Golden Pink y Pink Couture.

This lipstick claims that is infused with real 24K gold, but... is that something that I should look for in a lip product?? I really don't know, I've never heard that gold has moisturizing properties :P but I must admit that I really really liked this one because it has a really creamy consistency, it goes on very smooth and the shades are beautiful. The color wears all day and they also smell great. The gold packaging gives them an elegant vibe; I believe these are great as gifts for the upcoming holidays :)

ANY Lip Smackers Product

Me encanta hablar de esta marca! Quién no los coleccionaba de chiquita y, ejem, de grande también jeje El sólo ver el empaque te saca una sonrisa y te remonta a los tiempos de la escuela. Siempre se les puede asociar con colores brillantes, olores que nos recuerdan a sodas, dulces, postres y demás delicias dulces. Existe una gran variedad desde sólo humectantes, hasta brillo y color, y muy importante, sabor!

Uno de mis favoritos de todos los tiempos es este grandulón que, literalmente lo tengo desde la universidad, hasta la fecha no se me ha acabado! Aunque no creo que sea muy bueno tener un labial por tantos años por aquello de la expiración jejee esque nunca me ha fallado y el olor a fresas me encanta :)

I absolutely looove talking about this brand! I mean who didn't used to collect these as a kid? ahem even as an adult :P Just by looking at the packaging, you instantly think about your school days. This brand is always associated with bright colors, delicious scents such as sodas, candies desserts and  many different sweet treats. Their products vary from plain moisturizers, to shine, color and oh so important, flavors!

This big guy here is one of my all time favorites, I literally have it since college and I haven't ran out of it! Although I believe having a beauty product for that long can't be good in terms of expiration and such, I just love the strawberry scent and the fact that it has stuck with me since forever!

Beauty Haul: Oct 16

Hola mis bellezas! ;) Cómo les fue este fin de semana? Yo estoy bien emocionada porque cada vez falta menos para Halloween y, ejem, mi cumple jiji ya ando viendo algunas decorciones para ese día y mi disfraz espeeeroo que quede listo y a tiempo! Pero bueno, para empezar la semana les traigo un pequeño beauty haul. Como ayer pagaron, me sentía así:

I'm super excited cause it's almost Halloween and, ahem, my bday! :p I'm already going through some decoration ideas and hopefully my costume will be done in time! Anyways, to begin with this week, I wanna show you some of the things I bought, a little beauty haul. Since yesterday was payday, I felt like this:

Entonces me compré algunas cositas que quería y como los cosméticos Maybelline tenían el 40% de descuento jajaja aproveché un poco! Aquí les muestro lo que compré:

So I bought some things I wanted to try and since all Maybelline cosmetics were 40% off at this nearby drugstore, I had to do some shopping! :) Here's what I got:

Nair Spa Facial Crema Depilatoria/ Brazilian Spa Clay Face Cream

Normalmente, aprovecho los domingos que es cuando tengo más tiempo para dedicarle un poco más atención a cosas como pintarme las uñas, ponerme alguna mascarilla, sacarme la ceja y algo que a veces dejamos olvidado: quitarnos ese temido bigotín. Esta semana probé esta crema de Nair, que viene en un pequeño tubo de 20 ml. con aplicador especial. La crema es bastante espesa y eso me gusta ya que siento que cubre bastante con poca cantidad. La dejé 5 minutos y la retiré con un algodón húmedo y no tuve ningún problema.

Lo único es que aunque tiene un olor más agradable que algunas otras cremas que he probado, sigue teniendo un olor fuerte, y como lo aplicamos tan cerca de la nariz se siente aún más. Pero fuera de eso es una opción económica y rápida para deshacernos de ese vello no deseado.

When it comes to my beauty routine, I normally do certain things that require more time and attention, on Sundays, such as my manicure, doing a facial, plucking/shaping my eyebrows, and one thing that we tend to forget: removing that unwanted upper lip hair. This week I tried this hair removal cream by Nair, that comes in a little 20 ml. tube with a precision tip applicator. It has a really thick consistency which is nice since just a little bit of product goes a long way. I waited for 5 minutes, removed it with a damped cotton pad and that was it.

The bad thing is that, although it has a nicer smell than most of these products, because of it's chemical ingredients it still has a pretty strong smell, and since we're applying it so near to our noses, it is more noticeable. But besides that, it was an inexpensive, quick way to get rid of unwanted hair.

Gale Hayman Delicious Cotton Candy

Deben saber que a mi me encantan los olores dulces, el color rosa y todo lo girly. Entonces cuando supe de este perfume que se llama Delicioso Algodón de Azúcar, que viene en una botella y caja rosa, tuve que probarlo. 

Lo primero que detecto es un olor a azucar, un poco como malvavisco y al final algo de vainilla. Debo decir que es un olor que no a todos les llamará de inmediato la atención, ya que se les puede hacer algo empalagoso, pero si eres fan de los olores dulces como yo, sí recomiendo probarlo. Además siento que dura bastante en la piel y eso es algo que siempre busco en un perfume, porque qué chiste tiene que huela hermoso si sólo te va a durar1 hora y nadie lo va a notar mas que tú?

First of all, I should note that I absolutely love sweet scents, the color pink and all things girly. So when I heard about this perfume called Delicious Cotton Candy, that comes in a pink bottle and box, I had to try it.

To me, this opens really sweet, a lot like sugar, then a little like marshmallow and some vanilla at the end. I must admit that this scent might not appeal to everybody, some may think is too sweet, but if you're a candy fan, I definitely recommend giving it a try. Plus I really feel that it last an extremely long time on my skin and that's something I always look for on a perfume, because what's the point of having this amazing and beautiful perfume if it's only gonna last 1 hour and nobody's gonna be able to smell it but yourself?

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer

Estoy segura que muchas de ustedes ya habían visto este corrector en YouTube y como tenía buenos comentarios, decidí probarlo. Lo primero es que me gusta el tubo en el que viene y la pequeña esponjita como aplicador, es muy suave y fácil de aplicar. El corrector tiene una consistencia ligera y sedosa, y para mi, siento que tiene un nivel medio de cobertura, incluso un poco más alto. Yo lo aplico con la esponja y después lo difumino un poco con los dedos y deja una textura muy suave, no se siente que traigas mucho producto puesto y siento que hizo un buen trabajo en cubrir mis ojeras. 

La descripción dice que ayuda a a borrar la aparición de ojeras y pequeñas lineas de expresión, así como disminuir la hinchazón al rededor de los ojos. Yo no noté nada de eso al comienzo pero le daré más días para poder ver alguna diferencia notable.

I'm sure most of you have heard or seen this on YouTube with great reviews so I decided to try it. First I like the little glass-like tube and the sponge applicator, it feels really soft and easy to apply. The concealer itself has a light, velvety consistency and for me, it had medium coverage, maybe even a little higher. Personally I first apply a little bit of product with the sponge, and then use my fingers to blend it in and it has a very smooth finish, doesn't feel cakey and form me it did a good job covering dark circles.

In the description, it says that it helps to erase the appearance of dark circles and fine lines, as well as diminishing the appearance of puffiness around the eyes. Personally, I didn't notice any of that but I'll give it a few days to see if any difference appears.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash / Pink Grapefruit

Esta marca para mi siempre me ha funcionado. He comprado jabones, limpiadores, exfoliantes y he escuchado maravillas de su linea de cosméticos. Esta ocasión compré el limpador facial para pieles mixtas a grasas y debo decir que una vez más, no me ha defraudado. Tiene un olor muy agradable y refrescante, y aunque no hace tanta espuma, sí sientes que limpia tu cara y la deja sin ningún residuo. Basta con un poco para limpiar toda la cara y estoy contenta con los resultados. Yo la uso por las mañanas y las noches y con la ayuda de una loción astringente, mantiene bajo control el brillo durante el día de mi zona T.

For me, you can never go wrong with this brand. Over the years I've bought soaps, cleanser, face scrubs and I've heard wonders about their makeup line. This time I got the Oil free acne wash, for oily skin and I gotta say I'm happy with the results yet again. It has a really fresh and invigorating smell, and although it doesn't lather as much, you do feel that your skin is clean. You don't need a lot to cleanse your whole face and I feel it does what it's supposed to do. I use it every morning and night, and with the help of a toner, it keeps my T zone oil-free during the day.

Maybelline Hydra Extreme Matte in 806 Plum Me

Este color es perfecto para el otoño/invierno. Es un color ciruela/morado mate, bastante pigmentado y el cual dura bastante tiempo. Puedes usar sólo una capa para un color no tan intenso. Además del color, se siente bastante suave y cremoso lo cual ayuda a mantener los labios hidratados con este clima cambiante.

Perfect color for fall/winter. It is a rich, matte plum, nicely pigmented and it lasts a long time. You can just use one swatch for a more subtle look or you can build it up for a more intense look. It also feels very soft and creamy, which helps keep your lips hydrated in this ever changing weather. 

Maybelline Shine Sensational Lip Gloss in 50 Cocoa Fever

Estoy encantada con estos lip glosses! Tengo como 4 diferentes colores y no me enfado de ellos! Además de tener un color tenue y de hidratar ahora que empieza a hacer frio y que los labios se empiezan a resecar sin darnos cuenta, tienen unos olores riquísimos. Este huele como a cocoa y caramelo y te dan ganas de comértelo. Ah y aparte saben ricos! jeje Recomiendo cualquiera de los diferentes tonos :)

I'm in love with these lip glosses! I got like 4 and I can't get enough of them! Besides having a bit of tint and hydrating now that our lips seam to get dry without even noticing it, they smell awesome. This one in particular smells like cocoa and caramel... sooo good that makes you wanna eat it. Oh and they taste great, too! lol. I recommend any of all the different tones :)

Fashion Crimes - Episode 1

Hola a todos! Cómo ha estado su semana? Normalmente escribo acerca de productos de belleza que quiero/pruebo, pero hoy se me antojó hacer algo diferente y divertido, algo que a todos nos gusta ver, pero que nadie quiere hacer: un fashion don't. La belleza de un fashion don't es que no importa en qué parte del mundo estés, ésto va a ser un no-no seguro. Los fashion crimes no discriminan, no respetan edad ni género. Qué les parece si empezamos?

Una aclaración: Este post no tiene ningún afán de criticar a ninguna persona, ni su estilo, peso o edad. Es simplemente con fines de diversión, y un poco de advertencia.

Hello beauties! How's been your week so far? Since I normally write about beauty products that I wanna try or have already, I decided to do something fun and different today, so the subject for today's post is something that we all like to see, but no one wants to do: a fashion crime. The beauty of this relies on the fact that no matter where you're from, these crimes will always be a sure no-no. Fashion crimes don't discriminate against anybody, and they don't respect age or gender. So how about if we get started?

Little disclaimer: We don't mean to criticize weight, age or style of anybody. This post is just for fun and laughter purposes, and maybe a little warning.

Leggings transparentes / See through leggings

Creo que a todas nos encantan unos buenos leggings: son cómodos, básicos y dependiendo de cómo los combines, puedes hacer de un outfit casual algo un poco más para salir de noche. Pero cual es el punto de usar leggins para cubrirte, si van a ser transparentes?!? Mejor no nos ponemos nada! Así llamamos menos la atención.

We all love a good pair of leggings: they're among our basics, they're comfortable and you can dress them down for a casual look or make them a night outfit, depending how you style them. But what's the point on wearing leggings if they're gonna be transparent?!? Let's not wear anything and we'll draw less attention.

Botas blancas / White boots

Bueno, aquí quiero ser un poco más específica: no es que piense que todas las botas blancas son feas, pero es que el 99.99% de las veces que las he visto, se ven como éstas, y de plano no creo que nos hagan ver muy bien. Puede que unas botas blancas bonitas sean como una especie en peligro de extinción, o un fantasma, por lo que hasta no ver, no creer.

I wanna be a bit more specific here: It's not that all white boots are ugly, but it's just that 99.99% of the times I've seen them, they look like this, and I don't think they're a good look. Maybe a nice pair of white boots is like an endangered species, or like a ghost, so I won't believe in them until I see one.

Mira que a Lindsey la hemos cachado varias veces cometiendo el mismo crimen! Pero bueno, de ésto a que vuelva a chocar...

We've seen Lindsey wearing them several times, thus committing the same crime! Well, that's better than a hit and run anyway...

Y qué me dicen de éstas, más cortitas? Por si te quieres dar el look en plan muy ghetto o rapera del Bronx como la J.Lo.

And what do you think about these? In case you wanna go for a ghetto look, very "J.Lo from the Bronx" kind of thing.

Shorts demasiado cortos / Extremely short shorts

Con el cuento que cada verano hace más calor y cada día somos mas "libres", nos podemos poner los shorts que nosotras queramos, verdad? Y está bien, pero si te vas a poner unos shorts que sólo te cubran media nalga y la otra mitad va al aire, pues mejor nos ponemos un bikini y santo remedio!

Aparte, qué incomodidad, cómo te vas a sentar y no quemarte medio trasero?? 

With the excuse that every summer is hotter than the summer before, and that we're becoming more and more independent, we can wear whatever we want, right? And that's fine, but if you decide to wear shorts that only cover half of your ass and the other half is out there, well then why don't you just wear your bikini bottoms and that's it! 

Besides, wearing them seems very uncomfortable since every time you sit you are in danger of burning half of your butt.

Que conste que no tiene nada que ver con tu talla o medida. Vean estas chicas son delgaditas y con cuerpazo pero ahí van con un "calzón de mezclilla".

This crime has nothing to do with your size. Look at this girls, they have beautiful and amazing bodies, but here they are wearing some "denim panties".

Ahh y por si esos no se les hacían demasiado cortos, aquí estan unos que a mi me gusta llamar "Tanga de Mezclilla".

Oh and in case you didn't think those shorts were too short, here we have what I like to call "Denim Thong".

Lo cual va de la mano con mi siguiente "no-no"... / Which leads us to our next no-no...

Shorts/pantalones demasiado apretados / Shorts/pants too tight

Dios mío, qué alguien nos ayude!! Parece que para este crimen no hay salvación, lo vemos a diestra y siniestra en nuestro día a día... No importa si eres talla 0 ó 20, si usas unos pantalones que te ajustan demasiado a la cadera, vas a hacer que los "gorditos" de los lados se desborden, imitando a la perfección a un bollito recién horneado.

Please Lord, help us!! Looks like this crime is here to stay, we see it every day, everywhere ... It doesn't matter if your a size 0 or 20, if you wear pants that are too small, you're gonna make those little "rolls" on the sides pop, imitating a freshly baked muffin.

Esto ha sido todo por esta edición, pero como hay nuevos crímenes sucediendo a cada momento, espero traerles un nuevo post como éste. Ustedes han cometido alguno de estos? Qué otro fashion crime les viene a la mente?

So there you have it, these were some of the most common fashion crimes, but since we have new ones happening right now, I hope I can bring you some new ones. Have you  ever committed one of these? What other fashion can you think of?
